MIAMI Group Espirito Santo, developer of the $160 million, 36-story Espirito Santo Plaza under construction at 1395 Brickell Avenue, announced today that it is sending John Erixon with Grubb & Ellis Commercial Real Estate in Miami on a complimentary trip for two for a week in Portugal.
Erixon won the grand prize at the real estate broker party held prior to the groundbreaking of the building, an event designed to introduce the project to the commercial real estate community.
"Portugal has a breathtaking coastline, some of the oldest historical sites in all of Europe, and a distinct cosmopolitan charm," said Bill Ross, president of Estoril, Inc., developer of Espirito Santo Plaza. "It was the natural location for a getaway for the winner of our party -- Group Espirito Santos beginnings trace 117 years as a small family-run Portugal brokerage. Today, it is one of the countrys most powerful banking and financial institutions, and a diversified international conglomerate."
Espirito Santo Plaza will serve as the North American headquarters for Group Espirito Santo. Insignia/ESG is the exclusive leasing agent for the towers 260,000 square feet of Class-A office space.
"The building is an exciting new opportunity in Miamis financial district," said William H. Holly, managing director of Insignia/ESG. "The need is great for premier downtown Class-A office space, interest that was reflected in the overwhelming turn-out at the broker introduction party."
"The real estate community in Miami is thrilled with this opportunity," said Erixon. "The panache of the building architecture, and the recent art exhibitions on-site that have received international attention are provoking real interest in the flavor of the building and management."
Espirito Santo Plaza, the 1.2 million-square-foot office, retail, hotel and residential complex designed by Kohn Pederson Fox of New York, will provide a 36-story, elliptical-curved figural arch that is symbolic of Miamis unique perspective as the continental gateway to Latin America.
Espirito Santo Plaza, scheduled to open in 2003, fronts on Brickell Avenue and extends a full city block, in the heart of Miamis international financial district. The building will provide 260,000 net square feet of Class-A office space, residential units ranging from studios to two-story penthouses, 7,500 square feet of retail space, restaurant facilities comprising 15,400 square feet, a 7,000-square-foot indoor fitness club, and a major, first-class hotel occupying 225,000 square feet that provides suite management for the condominium residences.
