FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

"EMERGING PERSPECTIVES"
Silent Auction to benefit the New World School of the Arts

MIAMI – Fred Snitzer, curator of "Emerging Perspectives," describes the silent auction accompanying the exhibition as "a singular opportunity to purchase art from some of the best emerging artists of our century."

Jose Bedia, Carlos Betancourt, Robert Chambers, Adalberto Delgado and Purvis Young are among the 15 professional artists who have donated original art panels for "Emerging Perspectives." Another 125 gifted students from the New World School of the Arts also have participated.

Each of the panels will be sold individually, by silent auction, at the exhibition preview on Friday, January 19, beginning at 4 p.m. Bids will close at 6:45 p.m. The public is invited to attend and bid on the work.

All proceeds will benefit the New World School of the Arts, created by the Florida Legislature in 1984 as a Center of Excellence in the visual and performing arts.

"Emerging Perspectives" will continue, free and open to the public, on Saturday, January 20 and Sunday, January 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. At the close of the exhibition, each of the panels sold will be removed and returned to the New World School. The winning bidders will be notified to make arrangements for payment and pickup of their art purchases.
